Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has delivered his verdict on target Lyndon Dykes - insisting the Ibrox club sign him along with two others.

The retired midfielder is a fan of Dykes' and reckons the Australian would fit in well with the other talent already at Gers ahead of the new season.

Ferguson also pinpointed the midfield and defensive areas he believes Steven Gerrard should strengthen to go with the players he has already brought in this summer including Ianis Hagi, Calvin Bassey and Jon McLaughlin. "I think he needs to bring in another defender," Ferguson told PLZ Soccer.

"Certainly somebody up front who is different from [Alfredo] Morelos and [Jermain] Defoe. I know Lyndon Dykes has been spoken about the last couple of days and If I am honest I do think he would be a good signing for Rangers.

"And strengthen in the midfield as well. That's the engine room. If an injury happens to a Ryan Jack or Davo [Steven Davis] they could be struggling. So they are the kind of key areas I would try and look at and strengthen."

We told recently how Lyndon Dykes fueled speculation of a move to Rangers by dying his hair BLUE.
