Glasgow City Council has warned partygoers taking to the city's Kelvingrove Park that the area is "not open for parties".

The authority has warned those flocking to the area with alcohol will be rightfully fined.

It comes after Police Scotland charged half a dozen people at the park on Saturday, following a large-scale party on the park's grounds.

The authority has now condemned the parties taking place at the park.

A statement reads: "No fun being a killjoy, but Kelvingrove is not open for parties.

"KG is for everyone, especially during Covid-19. All park users are entitled to feel safe and respected. Physical distancing is still the rule.

"No alcohol or you may get a police fine. Bin your rubbish.

"Not ok."
