Plumes of smoke could be seen in Airdrie on Friday night after a car was lit on fire.
Fire services were rushed to the scene near Airdriehill Road at around 10.50pm after receiving reports of a fire in a wooden area.
One fire appliance was mobilised the extinguish the fire.
An eyewitness, who wished to remain unnamed, told the Glasgow Times the flames could be seen from streets away.
He said: "I was out on a walk and saw the flames from a few streets away. The smoke was quite high in the sky and you could hear a pop. It sounded like fireworks."
A spokeswoman for SFRS confirmed the incident to the Glasgow Times, she said: "We received a 999 call at 10.51pm on June 26.
"It was a report of a fire in the open within the wooded area of Airdriehill Road in Airdrie. We mobilised one fire appliance to that location.
"It was found to be a car on fire. The crews used one hose reel jet and one breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire."
