DOZENS of police rushed to the city's East End on Sunday night following a disturbance.

The Glasgow Times understands that a 999 response was sent to the Parkhead area late last night.

Officers who arrived at Williamson Street at around 9.30 pm discovered a 23-year-old man injured. He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Meanwhile, officers also attended nearby Duke Street at Springfield Road where they arrested a 20-year-old man who was allegedly in possession of an offensive weapon. 

He had also sustained an injury and was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. 

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 9:30 pm on Sunday,  June 28, police received a report of a disturbance involving two men in Williamson Street. Glasgow. 

"Officers attended and found a 23-year-old injured man. 

"He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. 

"Officers also attended Duke Street (near Springfield Road) and arrested a 20-year-old man in possession of an offensive weapon. 

"He had also sustained an injury and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. 

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101."
