AN EAST End graveyard has been cleared up amid concerns it had become a “disgrace” for mourners.

Riddrie Cemetery was described as a “health and safety” hazard with long, overgrown grass making it difficult for locals to pay their respects.

One visitor even feared her mum, 74, could be seriously hurt if things are not improved soon.

She called the condition of the cemetery “absolutely shocking”.

A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: “We have recently undertaken two full cuts of the grass within Riddrie Cemetery, along with strimming around headstones.
