A MAN was rushed to hospital after cops stormed a flat in Paisley at the end of a two-hour siege. 

Officers rushed to the town's Blythswood Drive on Monday following reports the 23-year-old had barricaded himself inside. 

Locals reported guitars and microwaves had been lobbed onto the street below.

A dozen police vehicles were spotted in the area at around 8.20pm as they sealed it off to members of the public. 

After a failed attempt to talk the man down, cops stormed the flat to remove him. 

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, where he was checked by medics.

Officers confirmed there is no longer any danger to the public. 

A police spokesperson said: "Officers attended reports of a disturbance at Blythswood Drive in Paisley on Monday 29 June. 

"A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. 

"There was no wider threat to the public."
