SUPERMARKET staff in Newton Mearns got involved in some “monkey business” to support a care home in the town.
Asda community champion Leigh MacPhee and her colleagues came together to supply Whitecraigs Care Home with facemasks and a selection of cuddly toys for the residents to enjoy.
Leigh said: “We wanted to do something nice for our local care home, so as well as donating the masks for staff we donated six cuddly monkey toys, which will hopefully brighten up the days of the residents, particularly those with dementia.”
Sue Inglis, events co-ordinator at Whitecraigs Care Home, thanked the Asda colleagues and added: “We really appreciate being given these facemasks as we use so many of them and, as for the fluffy monkeys, the residents really love them.
“Their faces light up when they are given them, which has been lovely to see during the lockdown period.”
