EAST Dunbartonshire Council will light up its buildings blue to say thank you to the health heroes this weekend - and celebrate the 72 anniversary of the NHS.
Three major buildings across the council area are taking part including Kirkintilloch Community Hub/William Patrick Library, Milngavie Town Hall and Bearsden Community Hub.
They will be lit in blue to demonstrate the Council’s support for the NHS heroes, including East Dunbartonshire
Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) employees who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, people are being encouraged to place a light in the window of their homes in remembrance of all those who died during the pandemic.
Then on Sunday, a nationwide clap is planned for 5pm as a tribute to NHS workers.
