Plumes of smoke were seen in the West End surrounding Glasgow's Botanic Gardens on Friday night.
Fire services rushed four appliances to the scene in Great Western Road to what has been confirmed as a bin on fire.
It is understood the bin an old railway tunnel within the gardens.
The fire was quickly extinguished and Scottish Fire and Rescue Services (SFRS) left the area within two hours.
An SFRS spokeswoman said: "The call to Great Western Road was received at 6.48pm. We mobilised four appliances and we left at 8.33pm.
"It was confirmed to be a rubbish fire in a tunnel within the park's grounds."
