A Broomhill 'favourite' is closing down permanently after a decade of being the go-to place for special dinners and celebrations for the community.

Wee LOCHAN in Crow Road announced the news on social media. 

In a statement, the restaurant wrote: "It is a sad day for Wee LOCHAN.
We are closing our doors permanently.

"Can I take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their loyal support over the last decade. I am going to miss the chat and stories from you all.

"It has been a blast."

Devastated locals expressed shock at the loss of the beloved eatery. 

One person wrote: "So sorry to hear this.. a wee favourite with my family and friends. Have had so many special lunches and dinners with you.

"Always loved the restaurant philosophy of great produce, fantastic menus, friendly and personalised service and a lovely intimate space to chat while dining.

"Thanks to you and all your staff and best wishes for whatever the future holds."

Another added: "Devastated to hear this. You will be sorely missed in our wee neighbourhood. You were always our go-to place for celebrations and get-togethers.

"More than once visitors who dined there with us said they had not had a better meal anywhere in Glasgow. Thank you for all the deliciousness and joy you brought over the years."

A third added: "Loved coming for lunches with Broomhill school staff over many years and always brought the visiting family to your lovely wee bistro. You will be much missed in Broomhill."
