NO NEW coronavirus deaths have been reported in Sussex hospitals, according to the latest figures.

The number of deaths across hospital trusts in Sussex yesterday remained the same as the previous day.

No more fatalities were confirmed by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust where the total stands at 146 deaths.

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 113 deaths in total.

Meanwhile, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has reported 257.

At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, the total is 90, while Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 18 Covid-19 deaths.

Nationally, 126 deaths were recorded where coronavirus was listed on death certificates, bringing the UK death toll to 44,517.

Public Health England has now changed the way it reports on positive cases to remove duplicates across swab test results from inside hospitals and test results from the wider population.

The number of cases in East Sussex climbed by four to 1,498. Meanwhile in West Sussex the number of cases increased by seven to 2,698. The total number of positive cases in Brighton and Hove increased by two and is now 770.

The national total for positive cases is now 286,979. An additional 630 cases were reported on Monday.
