A DRIVER who knocked down a man with a sports car at speed was jailed for 18 months.
Danyal Sarwar, 22, assaulted Mohammed Sahid to the danger of his life in Woodlands in December 2018.
Sarwar accelerated the BMW 1166D Sport car towards Mr Sahid and struck him on the body on Carnarvon Street.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Mr Sahid was then thrown to the ground to his severe injury.
Sarwar initially went to trial earlier this year but later pleaded guilty before Sheriff Martin Jones QC.
A not guilty was accepted by the Crown for driving without insurance and without the consent of the car’s owner.
Sarwar, of the city’s Pollokshields, was also banned from driving for five years and nine months.
