Film fans will finally be able to head to the cinemas as the big screens start to welcome punters.

Cinema giant Odeon is set to reopen its largest Scottish venue at The Quay in Glasgow from tomorrow, with priority being placed on increased safety measures.

Here is what will change:

Seats on sale will be limited to ensure unoccupied seats are available between each group of cinema-goers for social distancing reasons.

Show start times will be staggered to reduce queues and safe safe queuing measures will also be put in place with floor markings.

And alongside an enhanced cleaning regime, their newly serviced air conditioning will ensure fresh air is delivered into all screens.

We wish to reassure guests that staying safe is our key priority and the measures being implemented will be in place for their safety, well being and enjoyment.’’
