A SECTION of a Glasgow city centre street has been forced to close to allow for urgent gas works.
Stockwell Street has closed to all southbound traffic between Trongate and Osborne Street.
The city council said the closure was because of urgent SGN roadworks.
The northbound carriageway, however, remains open.
Motorists are advised to follow the diversion in place.
