A SCHOOLBOY who spontaneously had a go at setting up his own business has been watching it grow successfully over lockdown.

Bradley MacPherson, 14, kickstarted Laprise UK, his social media-based personal shopping business in January this year, after being inspired by a gift his parents got him for Christmas - a pair of Adidas YEEZYs.

The Clydebank High pupil, from Old Kilpatrick, told the Post: “If someone wants to buy something, they give me a message and I’ll source it, buy it, and sell it to them.

“A lot of the time it’s common stuff, but it can be rare items that are hard to get too.

“Lockdown has been quite good for me. I’ve had a lot of time to work on making logos and making my business better – but I’ve also been finding time to do my school work.”

Bradley, who has also been inspired by other personal shoppers, now has more than 2,000 followers on Instagram, and has had customers from near and far.

The teen who is also a keen footballer, usually plays with Yoker Athletic Juniors.

He attends training three times a week as well as a match at the weekend so is looking forward to getting back on the field after lockdown.

Bradley said: “I originally wanted to be a footballer but now I’ve got my business I have options.

“I’m going into fourth year at school when I go back but I’ve not actually picked to study business, this was just one of those things that happened.”

Since schools closed their doors in March, Bradley has been keeping himself busy by working on business, practicing his football skills at home, and completing his school work.

He said: “I was a bit bored at the start of lockdown but I soon got into a routine.

“I’ve invested a lot of time into my social media pages, and trying different types of things such as a raffle.

“My mum Annmarie and dad Paul are backing me all the way.

“Even at first, they let me see how I got on but they fully back everything I do and believe in me.”
