AN animal-loving Kilsyth 5-year-old has urged people to stop littering and "let all the animals live happy" in an adorable viral video.

Caylie McKenzie, 5, came across the litter in a nearby burn while on her daily walk with her mum, Cheryl.

In the video which Cheryl posted on social media, which shows rubbish thrown into the river, Caylie said: "Every animal could die from this idiot thing!

"They can get the animals really in trouble because they can get damaged with all this. They get their head stuck in things and also their heads in plastic."

Speaking to the Glasgow Times, mum Cheryl said that the response to the video, which has over 25,000 views online, was unexpected: "She made the video because when she saw the burn she actually started crying and she wanted to show the whole world that it was wrong.

"She's always been passionate about animals, and since we posted the video online it has been shared all over the world.

Glasgow Times:

"She is the most caring wee girl, she's so friendly to everyone and every animal and also doesn't have a filter so she tells it like it is!

"I have four kids and I'm so proud of how caring and friendly they all are."

Caylie said: "It's important not to litter because the animals can get killed.

"There was rubbish in the burn and we could see fish and the ducklings."

Caylie says that she loves to watch nature TV shows, and also takes care of her two guinea pigs, Rosy and Posy.

She said: "We clean out the cage every day, we feed them and we clap them a lot.

"I want to help animals when I grow up."
