The Fridays for Future movement started in 2018 after Greta Thunberg sat in front of the Swedish parliament every school day for three weeks to protest against and a lack for action on climate change.

The Fridays for Future organisation claims over 13 million people in 7,500 cities in every continent have joined in on the weekend protest since it began.

While most young people have been off school since the start of lockdown that has not stopped many from raising their voices and protesting climate change inaction.
