VULNERABLE people are the most likely to suffer by a Dennistoun pool’s continued closure, according to community activists. 

Members of the Dennistoun Community Council (DCC) called for Glasgow Life to open the doors to Whitehill Pool to protect the “lifeline” service.

The pool, which has been saved from closure in recent years by local campaigners, was missing from a list of venues due to reopen in the body’s phased approach following the Covid-19 lockdown.

Speaking during last week’s July meeting of the DCC, community councillor Deborah Hamilton said: “[The extended closure] is potentially worrying for people in Dennistoun.

“Why is the East End always last?”
