A HERD of runaway cows caused a stir at a village shop this morning.
Police were spotted diverting the unruly herd at a convenience store in Bishopton.
Greenock Road has been partially closed to traffic due to the disruption.
An eyewitness at the scene said: "Police cars either end of Greenock Road.
"I’d just popped to the Co-Op for my Daily Mail and I couldn’t believe what I saw."
A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called around 8.50am to a report of cows on the road on Greenock Road, Bishopton.
"Officers attended with the local farmer and the cows were returned to their field."
