A GOVANHILL musical charity has been celebrating its birthday in style, with an entire weeks worth of activities and celebrations.
Launched in 2013, Big Noise Govanhill, a children's musical charity serving children from brith to those in S2, celebrated its seventh anniversary last week.
The charity was an idea by Sistema Scotland, who launched the Govanhill group alongside 3 other orchestras across Scotland.

Activities to celebrate the big occasion included online learning activities and an exclusive online performance by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
Face-to-face teaching by the charity was temporarily paused during lockdown, with activities and service moving online, delivering over 3,200 live classes and 550 teaching video over the past four months.
Elanor Gunn, team leader for Big Noise Govanhill, said: “Our children and young people have worked really hard to improve their instrumental skills and develop their musical abilities.
"I want to thank all of them and the Big Noise Govanhill team for their effort and enthusiasm over the past 12 months."

The charity has been backed by the likes of Glasgow City Council, the Scottish Government, Bank of Scotland Foundation and People’s Postcode Lottery.
Laura Chow, head of charities at People's Postcode Lottery said: “The impact of Covid-19 and its necessary lockdown has been difficult for everyone, but particularly so for communities like Govanhill, which already faced significant challenges and continue to do so.
"We are delighted that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have been able to support Big Noise Govanhill’s rapid adaptation of its work to continue lessons and maintain participant well-being under extremely tough circumstances.”
