MORE than 250 drivers were detected for drink or drug offences over two weeks during Police Scotland’s summer drink and drug drive campaign.
The campaign, which ran between June 27 and July 10, saw police officers stop 7,457 drivers for testing, which resulted in 264 being caught with drink/drug offences as well as an additional 122 people failing the roadside test.
Deputy head of road policing, Superintendent Simon Bradshaw, said: “It is disappointing that we are still stopping people who drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.”
