PLANS have been announced by Mount Florida Community Council for a new public space, with consultation from locals wanted.
The Letherby Triangle, which sits on Letherby Drive where Cummnock Road meets Cathcart Road, has been earmarked for a redesign to give locals a new public area.
Speaking to the Glasgow Times, Community Councillor, Gavin Thomson, said: "We have been working closely with residents and local for the past few years and from the workshop and events, it has become obvious that the lack of a public space in Mount Florida is a problem for some.

"Lockdown has shown the need for spaces like this close to people's homes.
"This project is the combination of these concerns, combined with the fact that Mount Florida Primary School is next door and we need to regulate the traffic, which often ignore the speed signs."
Plans will see the area become more pedestrianised, with space for cycling also.
Gavin said: "With the proximity to Hampden also, we hope it can make getting to the stadium safer, and even maybe in the future linking up the cycle paths with the South City Way."
The community council has now launched a survey to ask locals and residents for their ideas and opinions on the triangle.
The council received funding from Sustrans Scotland, a charity which specialises in making public spaces accessible for walking and cycling.
Gavin said: "Sustrans have been so helpful from the start of this plan.
"The community council only meets once a month which limits how much we can do in so much time but o have this backing is a great push to get this done.
"This triangle is disused at the moment, but at the heart of the community. It's the perfect spot and so welcoming.
"We would urge any locals to get involved with the plans."
Residents can fill in the survey here.
The survey will close for submissions on Sunday, August 3.
