Barcelona superstar Antoine Griezmann issued a subtle salute to Celtic wonderkid Karamoko Dembele after the youngster's first goal for the senior side at Parkhead yesterday.

Dembele fired in Celtic's equaliser in their friendly win over Hibs at home as Neil Lennon's side sailed to a 3-1 victory having come back from going a goal down in the first-half.

The 17-year-old winger was delighted to notch himself a goal and he shared a few photos on Instagram, beaming at his performance and satisfied with the game time. And French World Cup winner Griezmann was quick with a response, posting a fire emoji and one of sunglasses to highlight his admiration for Dembele.

The youngster also quickly responded with a handshake emoji but the interaction - albeit small - sent some Celts into a frenzy. One said: "wait what", while another added: "How mentals this?"

Others begged Griezmann to sign for Celtic to star alongside Dembele. The latter has been impressive in his recent matches and made his first-team debut at Parkhead against Hearts last season. He has been attracting interest from across Europe in recent years from the likes of Juventus and Dortmund.

On Borussia Dortmund, Dembele's under-17s teammate with England, Jude Bellingham, also complimented the pint-sized player for netting his first goal. He added: "Lovely," with a loveheart eyes emoji.
