The body of a 55-year-old man was discovered on the grounds of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 3.55am after receiving a report of the discovery.
Claims have been put forward that the man was a mental health patient that was turned away, however that is not confirmed.
An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times: "There was a massive police cordon this morning in this area"
"People are saying it was a mental health patient that got turned away and was in distress which is sad if that's true."
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
A post mortem will be carried out to establish the exact cause of the man's death.
A report will also be submitted to the PF."
