Schools will reopen on August 11 as normal, Nicola Sturgeon has announced.

She said some councils might want to start with a phased return but all schools will return full time as normal by August 18.

She also announced that people who are shielding will be able to follow the same guidance as the rest of the population form Saturday

The First Minister announced a number of other key indicative dates for other activity including dentists, sports and bingo halls,

The First Minister said that Scotland was not able to move into phase four of exiting lockdown but gave indicative dates.

She revealed dentists can resume work that involved high speed drilling from August 17.

From August 24 it is expected that live events outdoors like concerts or comedy can take place.

Contact sports for all ages can take place from that date also.

Bingo and funfairs will eb expected to be able to reopen on the same day.

Other changes will have to wait until September.

Indicative dates are non-essential call centres and offices will remain closed until at least September 14 and possibly even later.

The advice will remain to work from home if possible.

Sports stadia can re-open form September 14 with limited numbers.

Indoor sports and soft play can restart too.

Ms Sturgeon however said that advice was that gyms and swimming pools would need to wait until September 14 as well.

However, she said that would be reviewed in three weeks and if possible would be brought forward to the start of the month.
