The city is in for a scorcher as temperatures will soar to up to 26 degrees throughout the day.
The Met Office predicts the city will be at its hottest at around 3pm where it will gradually get cooler across the course of the evening.
By 7pm the Met Office reports some light showers as temperatures will gradually get cooler by 8pm.
A Met Office statement reads: "Most of the day will be dry, bright and very warm, with some sunshine at times.
"Turning cloudier over across the Inner Hebrides with some showers later this afternoon.
"Fresh southeasterly winds along the coast easing down. Maximum temperature 26 °C.
"Occasional showers in the west extending eastwards this evening, some parts staying dry. The rest of the night will be mostly dry although rather cloudy. Minimum temperature 13 °C."
