A man was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning after he was subjected to a knife attack.
Emergency services were rushed to Hairst Street in Renfrew at around 6.10am this morning after they received a report of a disturbance.
The victim then rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment to injuries on his body and hand.
Medical staff have described gis injuries as not life-threatening, however he remains in hospital for treatment to his wounds.
Police are now treating the attack as a serious assault as they appeal to the public for information.
Detective Sergeant Karen Boyd of Paisley Mill Street said: “We don’t have descriptions of the suspect or suspects in this case, however, we are appealing for anyone who may have seen the injured man or anything suspicious in the area around that time to get in touch as any information could prove useful.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1101 of 1 August, 2020.
