Tenants have been evacuated after a fire involving an electrical cupboard disrupted supplies at a housing block in Maryhill.
Maryhill Housing Association said the incident happened at the Cumlodden Estate in the early hours and no one was hurt.
However is said the fire had affected electricity supplies at 11 homes and the housing association is working to arrange alternative accommondation while repairs are carried out.
Scottish Power engineers were able to restore power for five tenants but six tenants have been forced to move out.
The housing association said it has arranged emergency accommodation for two tenants.
The fire is thought to have involved bulk items or other waste dumped in communal areas.
A spokeswoman for MHA said: "A fire occurred in an electrical cupboard on the Cumlodden estate in the early hours of last night.
"Our staff are on site now and have been since this morning.
"Thankfully no-one was injured and no serious damage occurred inside people’s homes.
"We have contacted all residents in the close where we can. Initially there were eleven households affected who lost power. Power has since been restored to five households.
"Scottish Power have advised that it will take over a week to restore power to the remaining six properties because scaffolding is required.
"We have been working with the affected households to ensure they have somewhere safe to stay whilst this work is carried out and we will be providing accommodation for two households.
"We have arranged for an initial clean of the affected areas ahead of the more extensive remedial work.
"We encourage all tenants to contact us about rubbish or other bulk items left in communal areas by calling us on 0141 946 2466 or emailing enquiries@maryhill.org.uk.
"We will arrange to have these removed as soon as possible and will take action where we know who is dumping it."
