A man was seriously assaulted in Hamilton on Friday evening.
The attack took place in Hillhouse Road around 7pm yesterday and the man, 40, was rushed to University Hospital Wishaw.
The 40-year-old is currently in stable condition.
Officers launched an investigation into the incident and are currently following a positive line of enquiry.

A number of witnesses saw the attack and police urge anyone who has not yet spoken to them about the incident to come forward.
Detective Constable John Law of Cambuslang CID said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into a serious assault on a 40 year-old man in Hillhouse Road, Hamilton around 7pm on Friday, 7 August. We are currently following a positive line of enquiry in relation to this incident.
"The injured man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Wishaw where hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
"Initial enquiries have revealed that there were a number of witnesses to this attack and I would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
"Anyone with video footage or dash-cam footage is also asked to contact us as they may be able to assist our investigation into this serious assault."
"Information can be passed to Cambuslang Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3287 of 7th August."
