Two men were taken to hospital after being injured in a disturbance next to Glasgow Central Station last night.

Gordon Street was closed off between Hope Street and Renfield Street overnight as police investigated the incident. 

Officers were alerted to the disturbance around 9.30pm on Wednesday. 

The two men, aged 22 and 19, were treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A report was received of a disturbance on Gordon Street in Glasgow around 9.30pm on Wednesday, August 12.

"Two men, aged 22 and 19, were treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary following the incident for non life-threatening injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing. Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
