Update: Shannon Duffy, 19, has been found after police launched a public appeal for information.


A search has been launched for a missing teenager as police grow increasingly concerned for her wellbeing. 

Shannon Duffy, 19, was reported missing after she was last seen around 9.20pm on Wednesday in a Falkirk town.

Her last known whereabouts were in Stirling Street, Denny, but she is known to visit Falkirk and Glasgow areas. 

Shannon is described as white, 5 ft 4ins, with ginger hair which is shaved at the sides and curly on top.

When she was last seen she was wearing a white t-shirt with a multi-coloured pattern on it, black tracksuit bottoms, a grey/blue jumper, black and white trainers and carrying a rucksack with a coloured pattern on the back.

Officers are appealing to the public for help to trace the missing teenager. 

Sergeant Alyson Bolton from Grangemouth Police Office says "Shannon has been missing for a number of hours now and we are understandably worried about her.

"We have a number of police resources out looking for Shannon and I am now looking for the assistance from the public in tracing her"
