SCOTS are being reminded to ensure their registration details are up to date ahead of the 2021 election.

The Scottish Parliament elections are set to take place next may, and both new and old voters should ensure electoral registration details are correct. An extension of voting rights means more people can vote than ever before but only if they are registered.

Andy O’Neill, head of Electoral Commission in Scotland, said: “It doesn’t matter where you were born. If you are aged 16 and over you are able to vote in elections in Scotland but only if you register to vote first.

You can register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
