TWO people were rushed to hospital last night after falling unwell on a South Side street. 

Emergency crews were spotted on Eglinton Street at around 7.40pm just outside the O2 Academy. 

A section of the pavement between the road and Eglinton Court was shut down by police and ambulance crews as they cared for the man and woman.

The pair were later taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 7.40pm on Wednesday, 19 August, police were called to a report of a man and woman taken unwell on Eglinton Street, Glasgow. 

"Police and Ambulance attended and they were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
