THE LOSS of power to overhead lines at a major Glasgow station has led to delays on the line.

Services through Charing Cross are currently being impacted by the incident, which is affecting trains to the likes of Edinburgh and Milngavie.

It's unclear at this time where the line has been cut, but Network Rail chiefs have rushed to Bellgrove to probe the loss.

A number of trains have been cancelled or delayed as a result of the incident.

The news was confirmed by ScotRail bosses at around 1.45pm this afternoon.

They wrote on social media: "We've received reports of loss of power to the overhead lines at #CharingCross station.

"Services that call at #CharingCross will be delayed or altered until further notice. Staff are on their way."

Network Rail chiefs added: "Our overhead line engineers are on-site and inspecting the area between Bellgrove and Carntyne to try and identify the cause of the loss of power to the overhead lines.

"We'll keep you updated."
