I THINK all kids should get free school meals (Plea for school meal extension to all Glasgow Primary school pupils, Tuesday).

I think it is necessary and fundamental to their well being to receive good nutrition at school.

Hopefully when they are in employment they can eat sandwiches every day if they want.

ABSOLUTELY, as some kids don’t get a meal when they go home. So this is a very essential purpose in life.

ALL kids should get free meals. It shouldn’t just be for kids whose parents don’t work.

YES, as more and more parents are going to be out of a job once furlough ends if a company can’t afford to pay employees. Sad times ahead.

IN response  to the writer of “Our elderly should be given cash payment” (Letters, Monday), I sympathise completely with his/her anger at the treatment of the old by the SNP Government.

Alas, the people called to account for this travesty will not unfortunately end up the same way, as their pension funds and Golden handshakes (paid for by the rest of us) will ensure they live out “their” lives in comfort. But sadly I am not surprised as this SNP Government has done little or nothing for the OAPs since taking office.

For years OAPs have asked that their homes should not be sold to pay for their care, should they have to go into a care home, and they have been completely ignored as with their request for help to pay for their TV licence which for so many, on their own, is their only lifeline.

And yet, the SNP can “find” the money to increase child allowance, give free iPads to school kids, give out free bicycles and now give every child under six years of age £10. per week. If this is not blatantly buying votes, what is?

NAME and shame the people who are dumping their rubbish unlawfully (Govan Councillor urges residents to report fly-tipping at Plantation Park, Monday).

Then fine them £2000 a pop.

THE amount of rubbish left on city street corners is a disgrace.
