Heavy rain across Glasgow has caused chaos across the city's transport network today.

Flooding has meant that trains and cars have been delayed due to closed tracks and roads.

The M8 had been affected, with slip roads closed as a result of flooding, causing delays for drivers.

An area of Paisley Road west has seen substantial flooding, with a warning being issued to drivers.

Traffic and Control Management said: "The junction of Paisley Road West and Berryknowes Road is currently subject to heavy flooding.

"The junction is passable with care although drivers may want to use an alternate route.

"The nearside lane on Paisley Road West westbound is blocked due to a breakdown."

Both the M8 and Paisley Road West have now been cleared, with lanes re-opened.

Scotrail tweeted earlier that services running through Bridgeton were delayed or canceled due to heavy flooding on the tracks.

The signal at Bridgeton is back up and running, however trains from Glasgow Central low level will continue to be affected.

Scotrail have urged travellers to look for alternative routes as "replacement transport is extremely limited due to physical distancing."

A diversion has also been put in place after heavy flooding on London Road.

Flooding on the East End road saw vehicles trapped as they made their way through, and pedestrians climbing over fences.
