A primary school has been forced to close for the day after yesterday's torrential rain flooded its premises.
South Lanarkshrie Council told parents today that Victoria Falls Primary School will not be open today as they work to resolve the flooding.
The Blantyre school hopes to reopen by Monday.
A statement from South Lanarkshire Council reads: "School closure: Victoria Falls Primary School is closed today, Friday, 28 August due to flooding.
"They are expected to re-open on Monday, 31 August."
The Glasgow Times has approached South Lanarkshire Council for further comment.
Meanwhile, ScotRail have warned commuters in Glasgow to expect travel delays throughout the day as central lines coming to and from the city have been flooded.
