RANGERS boss Steven Gerrard has provided an update on Alfredo Morelos amid speculation that the Colombian wants to leave Ibrox.

The striker was left out of Gerrard's squad as they bounced back to winning ways against Kilmarnock last weekend.

Reports have suggested that Morelos has put in a formal transfer request to leave Ibrox and his manager addressed those rumours this morning.

In his press conference, he said: "Alfredo (Morelos) has trained well this week, I'll make a decision on my squad later today.

"I analyse all the players on a daily basis and I pick based on the players I think will get the right result.

"There were a lot of positives with Roofe and Itten last week and we also hope to have Jermain Defoe back very soon, so I welcome these selection problems."

Gerrard also offered an injury update.

He continued: "Jermain Defoe and Joe Aribo won't make the Hamilton game.

"Both should make the next game. Leon Balogun is back available for selection. Allan McGregor has trained all week."
