A mass brawl broke out at a Glasgow nightclub on Saturday evening. 

Taking place in Sanctuary's beer garden, the brawl saw bottles flying across the tables of the venue. 

The fight at the Dumbarton Road beer garden is thought to have taken place around 7pm.

Drunken thugs could be seen throwing punches and any item they could get their hands on, including a bucket of ice. 

A video of the incident shared on social media labelled the disturbance as "carnage".

But it is understood nobody was injured in the chaotic fight.

Sanctuary bosses revealed anyone involved would be barred permanently from visiting the nightclub. 

A spokesperson told the Scottish Sun:  "The Sanctuary staff and management are appalled by the behaviour of a small minority of customers who have shown no regard for the safety and wellbeing of those around them.

"We will work with the police to ensure those responsible are dealt with appropriately and they will be barred from the venue.

"At any time this behaviour is unacceptable, but never more so when faced with the current situation.

"Stewards quickly intervened. Police were called and groups dispersed safely and separately.

"Sanctuary is committed to providing a safe Covid-secure environment through digital temperature checks and two-metre distancing in-line with government guidance.

"Full track and trace data was collected. No one was injured and the safety of our customers is paramount."

Police received reports of the disturbance but their attendance was not required. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report to make us aware of a disturbance at a nightclub on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, around 7.40pm on Saturday, 29 August.

"The incident was reported to have happened around 7pm, it was believed there were no injuries, the incident wasn't ongoing and the group had left.

"Due to the information given by the reporter and other ongoing incidents, no police attendance was required."
