A Covid pub scare in Glasgow’s West End has been linked to a woman who is said to have failed to go into quarantine after an Ibiza trip.

Punters who visited the Record Factory pub and beer garden on Saturday, August 22 were told the following day they ‘may have been exposed to the virus.'

The Glasgow Times was shown an email sent by NHS Test and Protect staff, instructing anyone who was in the pub that day or evening to self-isolate if they develop symptoms of Covid-19.

According to a source, a young woman who had been in Ibiza and did not go into isolation for 14 days as required is said to have then developed the virus and passed it onto her boyfriend who is understood to have been in the Record Factory that night.

Spain has been on the quarantine list since July 26, stopping Brits from going on holiday unless they can self-isolate for two weeks back in the UK.

This also includes the Balearic islands. Greece was added to the list of countries where quarantine rules apply earlier this week.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said it is unable to comment on individual cases.

The Glasgow Times spoke to the Record Factory and asked for an update on the contact tracing process.

A member of staff claimed there were no cases of Covid-19 linked to the venue. When asked to explain the contact tracing email seen by the Glasgow Times, he replied: “You will know all about it then.”
