A RACIST chef tore a man’s lip with a glass bottle after hurling anti-Polish abuse at him.

Mark Kenny, 29, attacked Tobiasz Sieradzki, 34, in Glasgow’s Trongate in January this year.

The pair had earlier been drinking together before getting into an argument.

Kenny called Mr Sieradzki and another man “Polish b******s” before pouncing on him.

Kenny pleaded guilty yesterday to the assault to Mr Sieradzki’s server injury and permanent disfigurement.

The attacker also admitted acting in a racially aggravated manner.

The court heard Mr Sieradzki and his friend were walking in the Trongate.

Prosecutor Mark Allan said: “They passed the accused who shouted at them ‘f*** off, you Polish b******s’.

“They continued to walk and they were pursued by Kenny who had a glass bottle in his hand.

“This was then used to strike Mr Sieradzki on the face and he fell to the ground.”

A 999 call was made as Mr Sieradzki’s friend kept tabs on Kenny.

Kenny, of Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, then hurled the bottle which smashed.

He was later arrested and told officers: “Aye I hit him on the face with a bottle. I stayed because I wasn’t going to get away with it.”

Mr Seradzki was taken to hospital for treatment for a lip wound, which needed stitches.

Sentence was deferred until next month for background reports by Sheriff Joan Kerr who continued Kenny’s bail meantime.
