Line of Duty star Martin Compston has recorded a special message for thousands of people taking part in the Virtual Kiltwalk.
The Greenock born actor sent a message of good luck to the 13,000 people who have signed up for the event next weekend to raise money for their chosen charities.

Compston is encouraging people to spread the word and is urging family and friends to sign up.

He said: "Put on a bit of tartan and you can run, walk, cycle, do whatever you want for a charity of your choice and The Hunter Foundation will top it up by 50 per cent."

And this year The Herald has a special link up with the Kiltwalk. We revealed the fantastic partnership which means you can sign up for the Virtual Kiltwalk which takes place between Friday September 11 to Sunday 13 to raise funds for our memorial garden campaign.

Any money you raise for this worthy cause will be topped up by 50% by entrepreneur and Kiltwalk supporter Sir Tom Hunter through The Hunter Foundation.

Every year tens of thousands of people take part in Kiltwalks up and down the country and with restrictions in place on mass gatherings in Scotland it was decided to look at a virtual event.

There are many charities people can support as well as signing up for The Herald memorial garden campaign as a fitting tribute to those who have lost their lives to coronavirus.
