Nine schools in Lanarkshire are currently conducting coronavirus contact tracing, according to NHS Lanarkshire. 

The Trace and Protect teams are working within the schools after positive cases were identified at nine locations within the area. 

The list comes after seven schools in Greater Glasgow were announced to be tracing people, with positive cases in four Glasgow schools, one East Dunbartonshire school, one East Renfrewshire school and one Clydebank school. 

The schools currently being traced in Lanarkshire are: 

  • Calderbank Primary School 
  • Victoria Park School 
  • Wishaw Academy Primary School 
  • Holy Cross High School
  • Duncanrig Secondary School 
  • High Blantyre Primary School 
  • St Helen’s Primary School
  • Stonelaw High School
  • Auchinraith Primary School

A spokesman for NHS Lanarkshire said: "There is currently no evidence of transmission in the schools and the risk to the wider schools community has currently been assessed as low.

"To respect and maintain patient confidentiality, no further details will be released at this time."
