A Bishopbriggs man was attacked in broad daylight earlier this afternoon after a row broke out over car parking spaces. 

Officers are now conducting a line of inquiry after they were called to the scene at Oak Place at around 3pm today. 

A concerned source told the Glasgow Times they had witnessed a man being assaulted after asking a parent not to park in a private space.

He said: "There was an assault by a parent who was picking up their child from St Helen's Primary after he had parked his car in my estate today.

"A man attacked my neighbour when he was asking him not to park in private spaces.

"The parent’s kids were screaming in the car as their dad attacked my neighbour. My neighbour didn’t retaliate and the driver said he would be back."

A Police Scotland spokewoman said: “Police received a report of a disturbance on Oak Place in Bishopbriggs around 3pm on Wednesday, 9 September, 2020.

"Officers attended and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
