TINY tots at Greenock nursery were gifted a new Police Scotland story book by the serving officer who penned it.

Detective Constable Stewart Fleming, who works within the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde division, created the 'My Police' children's book to help youngsters gain a better insight into the work police do to keep them safe.

The officer was delighted to visit Blairmore Nursery with his colleague PC Alistair McDonald where they were met with excited pupils asking lots of questions.

DC Fleming said: "Interacting with the Children at Blairmore was a great experience.

"The children were brilliant with lots of questions and excitement talking about the police.

"Myself and PC McDonald were given the opportunity to read the book, chat to the children and present them with stickers, posters and certificates.

"The staff were great with keeping everyone safe under current guidelines.

"The children were so positive and it was fantastic being able to bring a little bit of excitement to their day."
