IT’S great to see the NHS staff finally receive a small pay rise.

There’s definitely a lot more the Government should be doing given all they’ve done
to keep us safe during the pandemic.

However, I’m glad to see our clapping has finally translated into cash.

IT’S great news for the NHS but I would like to remind the Government that the NHS were only a part of frontline workers who risked their safety every day to keep the country going.

Would nurses have continued to work if bank staff did not process wages or if retail staff all stayed home or petrol station staff or bus drivers etc?

There are others who deserve a rise too.

WHY is it that the Government hasn’t commented on scientific experts from Glasgow University stating that face visors do not protect their wearers?

Also, why have the powers that be not highlighted the long-term impact of reduced oxygen and increased intake of carbon dioxide after hours of wearing face masks?

WE received a huge response on our Facebook page on whether you will be sending your kids out at Hallowe’en. Here’s a selection:

GET a grip, kids have lost out on a lot, and this will be the most fun they’ve had in a long time.

Amanda Gilchrist

THEY’RE not cancelling Hallowe’en, just not allowing public celebrations.

Easy enough to have your own Hallowe’en things for kids – indoor dress-up, play games, have sweets etc. Yes, it’s not the same but it doesn’t mean you can’t make it as fun as possible for your own kids.

Laura Burns

WHY would you not send them out?

You buy stuff from shops and supermarkets and you don’t know who or how many people have touched it before you bought it.

Kids have given up lots during this – why not let them have a night of fun?

I WON’T be opening my door. It’s too risky. We’re better waiting until next year.

Mary McPartlin

THEY would be better just putting us back into lockdown at this rate.

Joann Murphy

I WON’T be taking my wee one out. It’s too risky taking stuff off neighbours and strangers, especially right now.
