Calling all the doughnut lovers - a brand new doughnut shop is opening in Glasgow.

Australia's largest doughnut and coffee franchise, Donut King, will come to Scotland in 2021.

Four other units have already opened across the UK and the newest will open in St Enoch's Centre, as part of a £40 million leisure and dining precinct redevelopment.

The redevelopment will also see a new Nando’s, Smashburger, COSMO and Vue Cinemas.

Jabbar Mumtaz, who brought the franchise to the UK, said: "I couldn’t think of a better location to open our first Scottish store, than Glasgow’s St. Enoch Centre.

"I hope Glaswegian’s enjoy our fresh hot cinnamon, glazed and novelty donuts, artistic Sundaes and delicious freak shakes, as much as our English customers do!

"Our Royal Bean coffee is a medium roasted blend and bequeaths caramel, chocolate and subtle fruit tones."

Graeme Jones, senior asset and development manager at Sovereign Centros, asset partner of St. Enoch Centre, said: “We’re excited to have such an innovative and visually attractive international brand, like Donut King open as part of this redevelopment. The brand complements St. Enoch’s existing and new outlets well and strengthens the Centre’s food and beverage offering.”
