IT is now one year to the day since popular former Rangers defender Fernando Ricksen sadly passed away after succumbing to Motor Neurone Disease.

The ex-Netherlands internationalist was just 43 when he died and today, on the one-year anniversary of his death, those close to Ricksen have been posting poignant tributes in his memory.

Former Ibrox striker Nacho Novo, who played alongside Ricksen in Glasgow's south side, shared a picture of his old team-mate with the caption: "One year ago today always in my heart brother I love u to bits amigošŸ’™ā¤ļøšŸ’™ā¤ļø"
