FIREBUGS torched a van outside a house in North Lanarkshire.

Cops have launched a probe into the blaze which saw a Vauxhall Combo van set alight outside a house in Moodiesburn.

The blaze occurred on Dunellan Avenue in the early hours of this morning at 12.30am. 

No one was injured in the fire but cops believe the fire was started intentionally.

Detective Constable Kim Faulds of Coatbridge Police Station said: “Luckily no one was injured as a result of this fire, however it is being treated as wilful and our enquiries are ongoing to establish more information and trace those responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Dunellan Avenue early on Tuesday morning, who witnessed anything suspicious, or who has any information that will assist our investigation. I would appeal to anyone driving in or around this street at the time, who has dash-cam footage, to contact us.”
