People in Glasgow have the shortest life expectancy in the country, according to The National Records of Scotland.

A boy born in Glasgow between 2017-2019 has a life expectancy of 73.6, whereas a girl is 78.5.

Average life expectancy at birth in Scotland has been confirmed as 77.1 years for men and 81.1 years for women.

The area with the highest life expectancy is East Dunbartonshire with a man expected to live for 80.5 years, and for a woman it is 83.6.
